Austin Mahone is officially street legal after failing the driving test twice! Earlier this morning The J Show talked with Austin after he finally passed! I guess the saying’s true; “third time’s a charm!”
Austin was just in Chicago a few weeks ago for an exclusive performance at B96′s Blue Cross Blue Shield Performance Stage.
He took the driving test in Florida on Wednesday using his red Range Rover. The real question is why did it take three times to pass it?
Austin revealed, “It didn’t turn out for my benefit because it’s such a big car. The first time I took it out, it was really embarrassing. I wasn’t even gone for like 5 minutes. I go out, I hit a stop sign, I’m good. (To clarify, he didn’t actually “hit” the stop sign; he stopped at it.) Then I pulled into a parking spot, and killed that. (He didn’t actually kill anybody…)”
He continued, “But then I pull out, and there’s this fire lane that’s the size of three cars, and it’s so big that I didn’t even notice it, so I pulled straight through it. The lady says, ‘What are you doing?’ And I say, ‘What do you mean what am I doing?’ She says, ‘You’re in a fire lane.’ I said, ‘No I’m not, there’s not a fire lane around.’ She said, ‘Look outside your window.’ So I look outside and I’m like oh geez, and she tells me to go back. So I went back, and I failed instantly. I was so embarrassed.”
After the first fail, he tweeted that he was singing in the car, and it happened to be a Michael Jackson song. Austin shared, “I got in the car and was humming ‘Human Nature,’ and she was like, ‘Excuse me sir, please stop singing.’
He was able to take the test a second time, only because he told them that he had a flight the next day. Austin explained, “They let me take a second test. I did the whole thing. I got out of the car. I looked at my best friend and I was like ‘I killed that.’ Then he (driving instructor) comes up and says, ‘Sorry, you didn’t qualify.’” It turns out that Austin wasn’t looking back while backing up because he has a screen in his Range Rover, so he failed again.
What did he do differently to finally pass the test? The next day he borrowed his bodyguard’s Nissan Altima, everything went smoothly, and he passed!
